Flesh Folly (AKA Plastic Souls)

Flesh Folly (AKA Plastic Souls)
By Cipher Box
Description: Our story is about a robot named Prophet and his companions fighting against flesh monstrosities in a post-apocalyptic world for the sake of humanity's survival! ... or something like that. My last submission suffered a minor glitch that caused half the sound to not play so this one will be better! With added audio and, some, updated visuals! I had to upload at a lower quality to make it fit, so I ask you forgive any strange visuals. Please enjoy!

It is an original and exciting story, full of interesting and valuable messages. The music chosen is very successful because it adds mystery and emotionality to the plot. The scenes are great, and the perspectives are unbeatable, which give the stories more realism. I also liked the narration, as it is very clear. The drawing are also very cool! A good story that gives us a very important moral. WELL DONE, CIPHER! :)

It's very nice to see a work in which the authors themselves like it (we can feel from your voice and from the whole amount of drawings and details). The overall sequence of actions is clear until 2:30, because after this point the explanations revolved around names and details of the world which seemed still introductions, and since they were quickly said before and the timing was a bit fast until that point, it became hard to follow in just 1 go of the video (I had to watch it again to follow it but everything is super new so it requires effort to follow). So a solution would be to make the voice a bit slower on world explanayions and repeat more repeatable terms and characters that are very unique to your world building. Also, after 4:40 there was no narration so I didn't know if it was on purpose, and it would be good to have them there since you were already using it. So you can check out on that while doing something in this work in the future. In any case, it was fun to see your world building.

Howdy Diego, I just wanted to let you know that I updated the video with fixed audio! So I would love if you gave it another look and thank you for all your feedback so far!

Thank you so much! I appreciate everything you have said. There must have been something wrong with my upload! That is a shame. I will just have to reupload a new version in December, probably with updated photos! Thank you for what you said about the world explainations! I am sure a lot of it would have been apparent without the missing audio due to my glitch, but these are still important all the same! On my second pass I'll slow down, too, as I am known to speak quickly. I'm so glad you enjoyed the world that I created, nonetheless. At least I know that the story was interesting enough for you to leave a comment even without the narration! And, really, that's a good goal to strive for!

Right out of the gate, I loved the humor of the description. 'Or something like that.' If that sort of attitude is on a movie poster, man, I want to see it. This post-apocalyptic world is really fascinating. It feels fully fleshed-out. Pun, absolutely intended. I love the politics you've created for the robots. I was a little lost at about the 4:40 mark, until the 7:10 mark, when there wasn't any narration. But that's also when the characters sort of hit the road, and I really love that hit-the-road part of the story. Even though I wasn't sure what wa going on, I could tell that the story started to really move then. And I loved all of the hand drawn, post it note drawings. It means your team is finding any way they can to tell this story. I also really loved the idea of the image of the twisted wires looking like tree roots. I hope you keep finding those sorts of images throughout your story, where technology or ancient technology takes on natural forms. That might be a great visual metaphor to convey the history of the world. You guys have built a whole world here, which is extraordinary, because it feels like there could be so many stories to tell within. You have to keep going. I can't wait to see more. This thing is epic. Congratulations on getting this far! I know how hard it is!

Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad that you really resonated with the beats and the world building that was present in my work! I also really appreciate your enjoyment of the artistic direction I decided to go with in my storyboards. There was an audio glitch in my story, that was not intended, but really it's my fault because the deadline came up on me quick and I got burnt out. If you really did enjoy it, please stay tuned for December because I intend on fixing the audio issues and re-uploading it for that release. Hopefully with some music to accompany it too! Comments like these make my work feel like it's reaching somebody, even when it's broken, so thank you so much!
